Some weddings just feel extra special, the kind that stay with you long after the day is over. Amanda and TJ’s Shoreby Club wedding was one of those for me. I first met these two when I photographed their proposal two years ago (which still makes me smile when I think about it). From their proposal to their engagement session and wedding weekend, it has been such a joy to capture every chapter of their story. They are as joyful and fun loving as they are kind, and every detail of their day was a reflection of that. From the stunning design and planning by Vicki of Kirkbrides colorful florals, patterned linens, and personalized touches (like their bacon bar!), it was an unforgettable day and truly an honor to capture. I am so thrilled to share more of their joyful day!

Getting Ready

The morning began at a friend’s beautiful home overlooking the water which was the perfect calm before the celebration. Amanda spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, laughter, and anticipation. I loved photographing all the little details: we opted to showcase her gown on a mannequin to highlight all of the beaded details, and she shared some unforgettable moments with her mom and grandma. Her bouquet from Plantscaping Blooms was a stunning mix of blue hydrangeas, pink peonies, and lush greenery which was the perfect reflection of the bright, romantic tone for the day ahead.

First Look

Amanda shared three of the sweetest first looks. The first was with her bridesmaids, then her dad which was such a tender, emotional moment that had everyone tearing up behind the camera. Then she met TJ for their own first look, and their reactions said it all. You could just feel the joy radiating between them. After years of anticipation, this was finally their day and they soaked up every second of it.

Shoreby Club Ceremony

Shoreby Club is one of those venues that makes you walk in and go, “yes, this is it!” – as told to me as my brides who have chosen this venue. The ceremony space overlooking the water was perfect for Amanda and TJ’s wedding ceremony. A lush floral arch framed the view of the lake, bursting with color and texture. The breeze off the water, the sound of laughter from guests, and the golden sunlight made everything feel so peaceful and dreamy. As Amanda and TJ exchanged their vows, the moment felt intimate and timeless, exactly the kind of ceremony that fits the Shoreby Club’s charm so perfectly.

Cocktail Hour

Afterward, guests gathered on the bluff for cocktail hour, where lots of personal and intentional details awaited them. There was ‘Amanda’s Oyster Bar’ and ‘TJ’s Bacon Bar’, a champagne toast surrounded by their favorite people, and live musicians.

Reception

The celebration continued inside with a stunning reception overlooking Lake Erie. The space was decorated with hanging greenery, romantic florals, and soft candlelight that set the mood for an unforgettable evening. From the heartfelt speeches to a packed dance floor, , an incredible band, and a special musical performance from the groom’s and his family, it was the kind of night that perfectly captured the joy and connection Amanda and TJ share.

Amanda and TJ’s Shoreby Club wedding was colorful, emotional, and full of life. It was a true reflection of their story and the love that’s grown between them for the past few years. Being part of this journey from proposal to wedding day was such a gift, and this day will forever be one of my favorites to have photographed. I am truly so grateful to have the opportunity to capture unforgettable celebrations such as this one!
