Kathryn and Abel’s wedding day was a joyful celebration of color, culture, and connection set against some one of Cleveland’s most iconic venues, the Cleveland Museum of Art. From a heartfelt church ceremony downtown to a vibrant, Indian fusion reception at the Cleveland Museum of Art, every part of their day felt intentional, elegant, and deeply personal.
If you’re dreaming of a Cleveland Museum of Art wedding that blends timeless architecture with vibrant, warm colors, this day is full of inspiration.
Details & Getting Ready
Kathryn and Abel began their day getting ready at the Kimpton, a favorite downtown Cleveland hotel for its beautiful architecture and spacious, modern feel. Kathryn’s getting ready space was filled with lots of laughter, sweet moments and thoughtful details that reflected the day ahead. I loved getting to capture flatlay images of her stunning Tiffany and Co engagement ring, beautiful purple details with vibrant pops of colorful florals.
Her details paired beautifully with the overall wedding design: rich tones, meaningful textures, and a sense that this wedding would be anything but traditional. Meanwhile, Abel prepared nearby, sharing quiet moments with his family before the day truly began.
These early hours felt calm and grounded, the perfect foundation for a day centered on intention and joy.

First Look
Kathryn and Abel chose to do their first look at the Kimpton, giving them a private moment to slow down and take in the significance of the day. The emotion between them was immediate and genuine: soft smiles, deep breaths, and that unmistakable sense of this is really happening!
First looks like this allow couples to be fully present with one another before the schedule fills up, and for Kathryn and Abel, it created space for connection that carried through the rest of the day

Ceremony
Their ceremony took place at a beautiful church downtown, surrounded by family and friends who had gathered to witness not just a marriage, but the merging of cultures and traditions. The ceremony was reverent, heartfelt, and deeply meaningful, honoring both faith and family.
From emotional vows to joyful recessional moments, the ceremony set the tone for the celebration to follow: one rooted in love, respect, and community

Portraits
We captured their wedding party portraits at the beautiful Cleveland Cultural gardens, followed by couples’ portraits at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The museum’s grand architecture, marble elements, and iconic staircase and columns created the perfect contrast to Kathryn and Abel’s colorful attire and florals.
This is one of the reasons a Cleveland Museum of Art wedding is so special: the venue offers timeless elegance while allowing bold, creative design choices to shine.

Reception Decor and Details
The reception design was a stunning blend of Indian fusion elements and modern elegance. Purple linens anchored the space, while lush, colorful florals by Budding Tree brought the room to life. Shades of pink, magenta, orange, and vibrant greenery added warmth and depth, creating a joyful, celebratory atmosphere.
Each detail felt intentional: from the tablescapes to the way color was layered throughout the room, proof that bold choices can still feel refined and timeless when done thoughtfully.

Reception
Kathryn and Abel’s reception at the Cleveland Museum of Art was nothing short of electric. The energy in the room was palpable as guests celebrated with music, lots of dancing, and genuine joy. From heartfelt toasts to a packed dance floor, the evening was a true reflection of the couple: warm, vibrant, and full of life.
A Cleveland Museum of Art wedding offers a rare balance of sophistication and creative freedom, and Kathryn and Abel embraced that balance beautifully. Their day was a reminder that weddings don’t have to fit a mold; they can be deeply personal, culturally rich, and visually unforgettable.
If you’re planning your own Cleveland Museum of Art wedding and dreaming of something colorful, elegant, and meaningful, I hope this day inspires you!
