I had so much fun chatting with Cleveland wedding planner Sirpilla Soirées about all things wedding planning! I loved getting to learn more about what they do and how they serve their couples so well.
After planning her mom’s wedding in Naples, FL in April of 2017, Sirpilla Soireés was born. After being in the events industry for over 5 years at that point and seeing all of the beautiful details come together for her mom’s wedding, Nicole quit her full-time job. And she started her own wedding planning & design business! She was living in Washington DC when Sirpilla Soirees was established and then relocated to her hometown of Canton, Ohio during November of 2018. So I had to ask Nicole and Kate all my wedding planning questions, and they definitely dropped some really helpful knowledge!
Why work with a wedding planner?
Of course there’s the obvious: they’ll make your wedding stress-free and fun (who doesn’t want that right?!). But what else? Well, a HUGE thing to keep in mind is that a wedding planner will help you know where you should be spending and saving. What’s the difference between a wedding planner and a venue coordinator?
I’ve been asked this question a few times before so I thought I’d bring it up! A wedding planner supports you in every aspect of the planning process and will coordinate your outside vendors. A venue coordinator is focused on venue related duties. So you may not think you need a planner if you have a venue coordinator. But keep in mind ALL of the details leading up to the day. And how much you’ll want someone else to help you with them.
What’s your advice to couples who don’t think they need a planner?
Here’s exactly what Nicole had to say: “Every single couple deserves to have a wedding coordinator at the very least. You only get married once and trust me when I say that it goes by in the blink of an eye. Having a wedding coordinator will take a lot of the stress away the month prior to your wedding by finalizing the timeline & floorplan with all of your vendors. Additionally, hiring a wedding coordinator will allow your wedding party & family to be fully present since their only responsibility will be smiling for photos, walking down the aisle, & dancing the night away!” She couldn’t have put it better!
