Where to get engaged in Cleveland, OH

Cleveland is full of beautiful spots for proposals. As a Cleveland Wedding Photographer, I love being able to photograph some of the most special memories a couple will have in gorgeous locations! After years of photographing lots of beautiful locations, I’ve put together a list of what I think are the best 5 places to get engaged in Cleveland.

1. The Hyatt Arcade

I absolutely love the Arcade for a lot of different reasons. The grand ceilings provide an absolutely dreamy feel for a proposal (especially around Christmas!). The top of the stairs is the perfect spot to get on one knee if you want a gorgeous backdrop. Not to mention, it’s a photographer dream to photograph if you decide to hire one!

Highlights:

• Grand ceilings with lots of natural light
• Classic stairwell with gold details
• Beautiful decor around Christmas making it the perfect spot for a holiday engagement

2. Edgewater Park

Edgewater park is in my opinion, one of the best places to get in engaged in Cleveland for so many reasons. The rock pier that flows into the water would be such a gorgeous spot to propose! Especially around sunset, I mean, a beach engagement at sunset on a pier? You can’t go wrong!

Highlights:

• Gorgeous weeping willow trees
• Rock pier that allows you to walk out on the water
• Sandy shores
• Pier overlooking the city

3. Cleveland Botanical Gardens

I chose this as one of the best 5 places to get engaged in Cleveland for multiple reasons. Both the indoor and outdoor sections of the gardens are absolutely gorgeous. I love that the indoor section is not only beautiful but has so much variety; it’s a great option for a proposal during the colder months, and there are plenty of spaces for a photographer to hide if you decide to hire one!

Highlights:

• Lush foliage indoors and outdoors and plenty of florals
• Beautiful ponds and bridges (perfect for a proposal)
• Adorable gazebo

4. The Cleveland Cultural Gardens

Did you know that there are actually 30 GARDENS in the group of Cleveland Cultural Gardens? This is one of the reasons I absolutely love Cultural Gardens as an option for one of the best 5 places to get engaged in Cleveland! Because you actually have 30 options. There is so much variety within the different gardens, and I love that you can choose one that fits your style best. My favorites are: the Italian, Greek, and Hungarian Gardens. But the others are so beautiful too!

Highlights

• Beautiful fountains
• Elegant stone architecture, walkways, benches, and arches
• Pretty florals and plants
• Lots of variety (30 gardens)

5. Downtown Cleveland

So I’m actually going to include 3 of my favorite spots in Downtown Cleveland for a beautiful engagement, so technically I should call this blog post “the best 8” instead of the best 5 places to get engaged in Cleveland 🙂 I love Playhouse Square and I think the gorgeous chandelier is such a dreamy spot for a proposal. The Fountain of Eternal Life and Public Square are two of my other favorite downtown spots for a proposal. And they’re both very close to each other, perfect for a little walk from one spot to another to end with a proposal.

Highlights:

• Gorgeous chandelier at Playhouse Square
• Beautiful fountain at Fountain of Eternal Life
• Lots of greenery, walkways, and more of an urban feel at Public Square

A proposal is something you remember for a lifetime, and I hope these suggestions give you some direction on where you might want to go! It’s definitely something you’ll want to prepare and plan for, and by reading this blog post, you’re definitely off to a good start. The truth is, there are SO many gorgeous places in Cleveland to propose. These are just my personal favorites and in my opinion the best 5 places to get engaged in Cleveland 🙂
